A vessel owner received a new vessel for well intervention work including wire lining, coiled tubing and through tubing. The owner required simulation work to deduce the dynamic behaviour of the vessel in the event of the loss of station keeping system.

Longitude worked with the owner to deduce what vessel operability could be reasonably expected in various conditions thus assisting with the operational decisions on the vessel as well as FEED studies and marketing the vessel for future charters. Longitude prepared a hydrodynamic model of the vessel calibrated against model test data and prepared a number of simulations including motions analyses, metocean analyses and drift-off studies.  Longitude also undertook full-scale trials onboard to test the analysis results and further calibrate the hydrodynamic models.
