Longitude has completed a project to assist in the purchase of a new fleet of five windfarm support vessels, and the following was carried out:

  • Support to the formulation of a vessel specification for a new windfarm support vessel contract
  • Review of tenders submitted
  • Acting as client representative during vessel build and acceptance including technical survey and the witnessing of acceptance trials
  • Recognised by both the vessel owner , their supplier and operator as suitably independent to resolve technical compliance issues and warranty claims

Longitude staff are experienced in the design, production and operation of a wide range of commercial and defence craft. Key members of the team have held senior design positions and Directorships within a range of UK Shipbuilders and design houses. As such Longitude can draw on experience of these individuals as both the customer and client within the designer-builder relationship. This makes them well placed to act on behalf of vessel owners to manage, oversee, trial and accept both the new build and modification of existing vessels. This can include areas such as:

  • Quality assurance
  • Project and schedule management
  • Resource management
  • Facilities management
  • Manufacturing output
  • Configuration control
  • Governance
  • Health and Safety
  • Manufacturing oversight and superintendence
  • Craft inspections as key points in build
  • Customer progress reporting
  • Resolution of manufacturing issues
  • Documentation checking
