Graduate Recruitment for LOC/LE Engineer Development Scheme

London Offshore Consultants and Longitude Engineering are currently recruiting for our International Engineer Development Scheme.

We invite applications from naval architects, marine and offshore engineers, and other maritime engineering disciplines to join our RINA and IMarEST accredited International Engineer Development Scheme.  We plan to recruit two participants into the scheme who will start in September 2020 and will then spend four years based at various offices around the LOC Group, generally for year-long placements.  Working in our core areas of shipping, renewable energy and oil & gas, participants will gain knowledge and experience in:

  • Marine warranty surveying;
  • Casualty investigation;
  • Design engineering;
  • Advance analysis;
  • Site experience;
  • Technical support to legal casework;
  • Health and Safety at work; and
  • Business administration.

At the end of the programme, each graduate will be eligible for full membership of RINA and/or IMarEST and for registration as Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council (UK).

Within the UK we only accept applications from those expected to graduate with qualifying Master degrees, accredited by RINA and/or IMarEST.  To be considered, applicants applying internationally with non-UK academic qualifications need to provide verification that their university course is accredited by RINA and/or IMarEST.

There may also be openings for our Direct Entry Engineer Development Scheme, where participants will complete the four year training scheme based at a single office.  The number of places on offer will depend upon demand within the local offices.  Applicants should advise their preferred choice of office, although no guarantees on vacancies are made.

Applications should be submitted in the form of a CV with covering letter to recruitment.loc@loc-group.com with the subject heading entitled LOCG/EDS/20.  Applications are to be submitted by 31 December 2019.
